December 13th

Hello, ladies and gentlemen.
Today in humanities 8 class. We were given a pretty wicked awsome epic amazing book. Mine was about the christian crusades and a 16 year old boy being a squire for a famous knight. Over the winter holdays we are subposed to try to finish the majority of the book. I have read about 50 pages.
We read for about 1 hour and 40 minutes throughout the day and by learning I think we are all getting better at english, and we are learning new words. In a real life situation we could use reading thing such as newspapers. Reading books about midevil times will make us learn about older language and teach us about the history of our world and how things worked back then such as rules for men, women, children and all the laws and what life was like for those characters that we are reading about.

Hum 8 Homework

Today was okay. Our class got some great novels to read, but all of them were about medieval times.  All the books were interesting from their covers to their contents.  Later, we got our assigned stories and read for around 45 minutes. We were allowed to get comfortable any way and anywhere we wanted. I lied down on a table! When there was still 15 minutes to go, it was break time and we headed out for some fresh air. In the second block, we used our last 15 minutes of reading and got a lecture about webs for the books. Finally, we wrote or made a web about the book that we had just read.

Make-up for Wednesday Dec 7

Sorry! I was really busy this weekend swimming and couldn’t post on the blog! But at least I’m here now.                                                                                                             Anyway, last Wednesday, our class watched an amazing film with brave and noble knights and King Arthur in it while doing a very easy worksheet. The story mentioned bravery, loyalty, and the most important skill a knight needs, swordsmanship. In the beginning, a man that goes by the name, Lancealot, challenges village folk to duel with him by sword. Just a little later, the traitor of the Knights of the Round Table, Prince Malagant, came with his army and burned down the castle. The other parts were Lancelot saving Queen Guinevere and battling Malagant’s army to save Camelot. The only sad part is that King Arthur died, but before that, he gave an order to all of the people in Camelot to fight Malagant's army. At the end, King Arthur's dead body was put out to sea and the moat the knights put him on was lighted on fire. That was a truly amazing movie I wish I owned it.

Today in Humanities we didn't do too much. We started Humanities class by watching the first knight we only had to watch the ending so it only took 15 mins. After we finished watching the first Knight we went into groups of 4-5 and wrote our opinions about two different sentences. After we all wrote our opinions and which one is one we thought was the better our groups combined all of our paragraphs together and wrote a group decision. Most of the decisions were probably the same. Once we finished writing all of that it was nearly 1:20 so all of the homework we have to finish for tomorrow is our sentences we had to write during the movie "the first knight"

Hello

Today in Humanities we didnt really do much because we were behind in portfolio conferences. The whole day all we did was take notes in a Pathways book about Greece, Rome and Egypt. One reason why we did this was to practice our note taking and to make sure we could take proper notes which means our notes listed the main idea, why it happened and what happened. The class today was also supposed to be very silent because we still had conferences. Something important is that ms lees told us that since we were behind in conferences we might have to come after school or in the morning to do conferences. That was all that happened today.

November 28 2011 Xiox XD

Hey guys, today what I have to say is. In class we were assigned the persuasive paragraph and the outline. So you have to write the paragraph and make in about 5-9 sentences. I wrote mine about why you should buy DDDN  fries. I wrote it so that it made you want to eat the fragrant, delicious, salty, and crispy fries. And on the outline you just write the topic sentence, 4-5 words that help describe your paragraph and then a sentence for each of them.
I finished the paragraph pretty well and I understood what I was subposed to be doing. The only thing That I had a problem with was trying to make the buyer want to buy the fries more. And the purpose that we are doing this for is to be able to make people want to do something that you want them to do. So to convince somebody that your way or the thing your are selling is better than the others.

Ms.Lees Humanities 8 23/11/11

Today in Ms.Lees Humanities 8. We learned about narrative and descriptive paragraphs. We will be writing some shortly. We worked on our atlas work based on South America. And we went over how our blogging should be done. We managed to fit all these things in because we had a double block. My name is Yusuf S, have a nice day!
