Feb 20th
We are doing this project because it will be fun to learn all of the stuff on this person because first of all we get to act and pretend to be a person in the middle ages but we also get to use the computers and the library for research which I weirdly find to be fun.
I have honestly never done anything very alike this, i have researched about people in older times and I have also acted. Those can both be two fun things to do but they can also be VERY difficult.
Some tips that I may give you are to not stay on website or book for too long because first you can waste lots of time searching that one thing and also if you dont find anything by skimming there may not be anything that is very usefull. You should just skim through it the first time and if you see anything usefull go back and read it again. And if you dont find anythig by skimming you can just go check a new website or book/encyclopedia that may be a lot better.

Hum 8 Homework
What We Did
Today, our class broke out our uncommenly used, but amazing "Pathways" textbook and took turns reading some paragraphs. Fredrick & I decided it with rock-paper-scissors and i won so he had to read. we also made some awesome graphs about nobles, Kings, serfs, and all that stuff. while making the last graph, Ms. Lees thought that we were being too slow, so she gave us her thoughts about it and we zoomed past it. Awesome!
Learning Intention
Our learning intention was to learn about how the classes of the middle ages worked and what were the duties of each person who lived there.
Connections Beyond Humanities
The connections for knowing this in Humanities and something that is not, is when you're a tour guide for a museum. when tou're telling people stuff about the middle ages, you have to tell them something that they don't know, not like "The middle ages is a time period that existed a long time ago", or knights fought with swords.
Homework
Our homework is to do a little venn diagram about tha oath of canadian citizenship, and one from the middle ages ( i hope that's right).
Tips for in class
NEVER... EVER work slow, because Ms. Lees will get very upset with you!!!!

For the next 30 days I will try to eat at least a serving of fruits or vegetables twice a day. I think that I can acheive this goal because some fruits and vegetables taste very good. I want to acheive this goal so that I will be more healthy and I will live a better life.

My plan to achieve this goal is to try to improve by 2 seconds each week. if i do that, i'll be sure to move up to the next level before i know it! i might even get my A or AA time!

Homehork for Friday
Today our class finished up presenting our novel posters and had a few single person presentations. Our teacher Ms.Lees instructed us to listen very carefully to other group's presentations because we were not allowed to copy any part of anyone elses presentations. I think it was quite smart. every group's speeches were amazing, especially ours. Coltin felt a little bit left out during the speech, but we'll make it up to him... someday. After we were finished with the posters, Ms. Lees Showed us a video we never saw before involving shopping carts, teamwork, great leadership, and fantastic ideas.
Learning Intentions
The reason why we had to listen so carefully was to not repete what anyone else said. We lost track of what had already been said, but luckily, we made it through, or that Ms. Lees forgot everything as well. The reason why we watched the mysterious video was to learn leadership skills, by listening to the group members comments, ideas, or any other mumbo jumbo. the clip was pretty enjoyable though.
Connections Beyond Hum.
Listening to other people's opinions or ideas will be a very good skill to use when in court. By court i mean a trial for a bad guy, with lawyers, Judges, and jurys. If the suspect is ignored, then he'll be toast. might as jump off a bridge. Being a good leader or having really good leadership skills will help when leading a protest or when working on a project in school. Both of these activities need leaders, of the protest or project will fail. Leadership is important in many things, but i can't list them all.
Homework
thank god that we didn't get any homework over the weekend. I would like to thank the Class, Ms. Lees, and mostly, the Class for this homework free weekend. i enjoyed it a lot!

Hum 8 Homework
The learning intention was to be true on what you did and judging how other people worked. Working on the poster tought us how to stay on task with people you might not be very familier with.
When class was over and we were beginning to pack up, Ms. Lees told us to do the Chapter one questions for "There Will Be Wolves".

Today in Humanities class we had a double block day and we had a lot of work to do. First off we had to do a geography challenge test which consisted of history, people, land and water masses. The reason we did this was so we could learn about geography knowledge that we would need in real life. Mostly you would need to know about languages religions you would defiantly need to know about continents and water and you should also know the history of the world. The reason we should know this is if you ever wanted a job or if you wanted to be a historian or someone who makes globes you would need to know this important information.
We also had to look back at the movie the first knight. We didn’t exactly watch the movie but we watched the first thirty minutes which had someone explain what had happened in the middle ages. There were three parts in the middle ages which were the early middle ages the high Middle Ages and the late middle ages. In the early middle ages there was someone called King Charles or Charlemagne. Charlemagne was very important not because he was king, but his acts as king what he did was he had made it so even if you are a very poor person you could still have food. He did this by having the people alive to make more crops which mean more food and more food means more people. He also had built roads all across Europe so that more people could get around. In the high middle ages there were the Crusades. The Crusades were mainly made up of villagers. The Crusades had wanted to travel to Jerusalem because they had wanted to steal the religion because they didn’t think the Jerusalem’s weren’t as religious. The reason why the villagers had willingly gone to war is because the leader had told them that if they had fought for Gods side they would go straight to heaven. Once they had arrived in Jerusalem they had found out that they were even more religious than them. They had also learned s lot of things while they were there. They learned roman numerals languages and much more. The late middle ages were probably the worst time in the middle ages. First of all there was terrible weather which meant fewer crops. Also in the early middle ages Charlemagne had made it so that there was way more people so in the late middle ages less food and more people meant more people would die. It was even worse because there was a disease called the Black Death which meant if you had it you would die in five days.
In second block we had gone to the library because we had to work on our blogs. All we had to do was find out who had been posting what we had to do and follow everyone blogs. The most important thing was critiquing each other’s posts. What we had to do was look at each other’s blogs and see what we did wrong.

hum 8 blog stuff
We talked about the warm and fuzzy drive because there are people on this planet who are not as fortunate as us and they need help finding comfortable clothes such as fuzzy clothers and warm nice jackets. We were given an extra week (6 days) to finish the books because some people in this class do not read as fast as others and they will need a bit more time to finish the books.
A connection in real life for a warm and fuzzy drive would be, there could be a little boy in the neiborhood whose parents cannot afford to buy him a warm jackets for when he goes out into the cold walking to school what it is snowy or very rainy out. A connection for real life in getting extra days to read a book could be that one boy could be slower at reading and everybody else was fast and the teacher didnt want to make to boy feel sad about reading slower so she gave everybody an extra week to finish the books.
Some homework tips for reading the book could be to go to sleep 30 minute to an hour early so you can read the book for a long time before you go to bed. You could also not watch TV and read a book instead. I did that with my book because it was a very interesting book about saladin attacking Jerusalem and there being a very big fight to take over Jerusalem.
